Dr Matthew Allan
Procedural Cardiologist
Dr Matthew Allan is a specialist interventional cardiologist, lecturer and medical teacher based in Sydney’s eastern suburbs. He is a staff specialist at Sutherland Hospital who also works at Prince of Wales Hospital. He specialises in complex coronary artery intervention and general cardiology.
Dr Allan completed his medical training at the University of NSW and undertook his specialist cardiologist training at Prince of Wales, St George and Sutherland Hospitals. He completed his specialist training in 2015 becoming a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. He then undertook two fellowships in interventional cardiology: one at Prince of Wales Hospital, and the other at Leeds General Infirmary in the UK.
Dr Allan is a lecturer at the University of NSW who works closely with the Sutherland Hospital clinical school, teaching students and trainee physicians. He presents regularly at international conferences and maintains an active interest in research and new developments in cardiology.
